In July 17 of 1992 Metallica and Guns N’Roses launched their stadium tour. On August 8th, in Montreal Stadium, James Hetfield suffered severe second and third degree burns after an accident with the pyro-effects. Due to Hetfield being rushed to hospital Metallica had to end their set early, much to the disappointment of the crowd. Guns N’ Roses took to the stage but Axl Rose who had troubles with his vocal chords decided to end the set early as well, and the already upset crowd took the streets in a riot, overturning cars, smashing windows, looting local stores, and setting fires.
