Julie London – Louie Louie (1969)

I must admit, I enjoy absurd covers of rock songs by easy listening artists. The late 60s were the height of this phenomena. And you know what? This version is very cool – to my ears, this cover of the old standby Louie Louie sounds like Sally from the Mekons. This reminds me that I’ve never posted Eartha Kitt’s version of Hurdy Gurdy Man
